Introduction
In IRAS, we believe that staff are critical to our organisation’s success. We play an active role in shaping the future of talented individuals through the IRAS Scholarships. We are committed to providing the necessary resources to help develop the potential of our scholars. Thus, in addition to financial assistance, an IRAS scholar can look forward to a mentor programme that provides guidance and support, a well-rounded career path and opportunities to demonstrate his/her leadership qualities.
If you have excellent GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels or Polytechnic results and a good record of active participation in extra-curricular activities, we invite you to apply for the following Scholarship Awards:
Local Awards : tenable at NUS, NTU & SMU
Overseas Awards : tenable at approved overseas universities
Courses
Applicants may choose one of the following fields of study:
- Accountancy
- Arts (Economics/Statistics)
- Business Administration / Business
- Real Estate
- Law
- Information Technology
Benefits
The local scholarships include maintenance allowance, book allowance, tuition fees, accommodation allowance, computer allowance, miscellaneous allowance and other compulsory fees.
The overseas scholarships cover air passage to and fro, maintenance allowance, book allowance, warm clothing allowance (paid once only at the beginning of the course), excess baggage allowance (paid once only at the end of the course), computer allowance, miscellaneous allowance and other compulsory fees.
All scholars will be assigned a mentor, usually a senior management staff of IRAS and also a returned scholar as buddy. In addition, all scholars will be given membership to IRAS Recreation Club.
Prerequisites
- Individuals with excellent GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ level results and a good record of active participation in co-curriculum activities.
- Applicants should be Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
- Existing undergraduates and those currently serving NS are also eligible to apply.
Terms of Awards
Scholars will be bonded to work with IRAS for a period of 4 to 6 years, depending on their course of studies, upon completion of their studies.
Scholars will also be required to serve a minimum 4-week attachment at IRAS during their course of study.

Applications are open from the release of ‘A’ Level results to end March each year. Interested applicants may apply here.
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Successful candidates who are awarded the IRAS Undergraduate Scholarship will have to apply to the respective universities on their own for admission.
