File tax early to avoid last-minute rush
It is the tax filing season again. IRAS would like to remind all taxpayers to e-File their tax returns by 18 Apr 2010, or send in their paper returns by 15 Apr 2010.
About 1.57 million taxpayers are required to file their tax returns for the Year of Assessment (YA) 2010. 1.12 million among them will not need to provide their employment income information; their employers will provide the information directly to IRAS under the Auto-Inclusion Scheme for Employment Income (AIS). About 653,000 taxpayers are on the “No-Filing Service”, and do not even have to file the tax return unless they have other income that have not been auto-included (e.g. rental income, income from free-lancing) or have changes to make to their tax relief claims.
