Offences

Lee Thiam Huat, 55-year-old Managing Director of five clubs i.e. public entertainment centres, convicted of Goods & Services Tax (GST) offences:

  • 8 counts of being the director of 5 clubs which made incorrect returns resulting in $360,097.66 in GST undercharged

Lee was the director of five clubs namely, The Harem Pte Ltd, Northern Stars Entertainment Pte Ltd, Club Paragon Pte Ltd, Club V6 Pte Ltd and Solid Ventures Pte Ltd, which made incorrect GST returns without reasonable excuse by excluding taxable supplies (relating to the sale of flower garland transactions) from such returns.

Court sentence

  • $23,000 in fine
  • $720,195.32 in financial penalty
