Joty Jashanmal Daryanani, a 76-year-old precedent partner of Jashan Enterprises (“JE”) which was in the business of exporting electronics and auto parts, convicted of: 

• 3 charges of GST evasion by submitting fictitious invoices, with the help of a freight forwarder, to evade GST for the accounting periods 1 Apr 2016 to 31 Mar 2018.

Court sentence 

• 64 weeks’ imprisonment 
  
• $614,362.35 in financial penalty
