Khoo Chin Huat ("Khoo"), 66-year-old sole proprietor of Sin Metal Industries ("SMI"), convicted of:

• Making false entries in GST returns resulting in $176,106 of GST undercharged
• Making false entries in Income Tax returns resulting in $417,044 of taxes undercharged
• Failure to keep and retain SMI invoices received from suppliers or vendors, as required under the Income Tax Act

Court sentence

• 54 weeks' imprisonment
• $1,784.451 in fines and penalties
